Open House and Turkey Shoot  - John and Sally Vandermus – for their help and providing the  large assortment of bars baked by Sally.

There were over 20 participants who visited SMSC and enjoyed the fun, competitive shoot for turkeys.  There were wild turkeys who visited and left the successful event unharmed.

There were requests for the BBQ recipe served at the Open House:

1-1/2 to 2 lbs hamburger

1 beef bouillon cube

1-1/2 tsp Paprika

1 tsp Chili Powder

½ tsp Cayenne pepper

½ tsp coarse Black Pepper

½ tsp dry yellow Mustard

2 tsp salt

1-1/2 cups water

Brown hamburger and break up chunks.  Mix spices in cup.  Boil 1-1/2 cups water and add bouillon cube.  Add spices to dissolved beef bouillon cube and stir.  Pour mixture over hamburger.  Simmer ½ to 1 hour which keeps water from ‘accumulating’.

Serves 6.
